“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

      Luke 12:32

Be of good comfort, beloved, your Heavenly Father is generous and kind in nature.

We should never see the hand of our Father as unwilling to bless us. The arm of the Lord is mighty to save and equally powerful in blessing. Every good and perfect gift in this life comes from God. He is willing and able to bless His people.

The Lord has promised to provide for our daily needs, no matter how they are represented. Do not fear the day or be anxious about the needs. Do not be burdened for tomorrow. Come to the throne of grace, cast your cares upon the Lord, and seek His blessings. The Lord will receive you and shall care for you. He takes pleasure in caring for you.

“If I go to prepare a place for you.”

  John 14:3

Beloved, let it be understood that the Lord is always a step ahead of you. We are often worried and upset about many things. We do not know what tomorrow will bring, so it becomes a question for us, a cause of concern. We plan and try to prepare, but there are many circumstances that make us feel unprepared.

The assurance we have for tomorrow and all of our days before is that the Lord is not only with us in the present, but He goes before us. He knows the beginning from the end. Nothing is a surprise to Him. God has promised us that His mercy and goodness shall follow us all the days of our lives. That the good Shepherd goes before us and that He will finish the work He has begun in us.

Rest in this assurance today. Take each moment as it comes and entrust yourself to the Lord’s providence. He is faithful and good.

“As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.”

     2 Thessalonians 3:13

Beloved, there are many ways in which we are trying to do good. With that, there can be a multitude of ways that we can become weary.

As followers of Christ, there is a desire to please God. To bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit daily. We want to be kind, patient, and loving, just as our Savior is. But we live in a fallen world with an adversary, besides the struggle with our flesh.

This struggle weighs upon our spirit, emotions, and mind. Therefore, we need encouragement to remain strong. The grace of God will be sufficient for us, while the Holy Spirit will empower us to continue. Do not grow weary today; find your strength, rest, and peace in God. He knows what you are trying to do for His glory and for the good of those around you. Nothing that you do for the Lord is vain, no matter how difficult it is to see through.
