"I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning."

Psalm 59:16

Can you sing? When we are asked this question, someone usually wonders about the quality of our voice.

Have you ever noticed that the Psalmist does not ask whether we can sing or not but calls us to sing? David lifted his voice to God and assumed that God's people would likewise worship the Lord in song. Scripture exhorts us to sing and commands us to. Worship was individually done and together. We see worship in heaven and on earth.

It is to be a part of our natural routine and a way that we lift our lives to God. Beloved, sing your song to the Lord today. Praise Him, worship Him, and thank Him with the song of your heart. The Lord loves to hear your song and it is good for us to encourage ourselves in Him this way.

"Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble."

Proverbs 21:23

This proverb warns us of the commonality of opinions. With the rise of social media, there is a renewed need to diligently meditate upon the truth. The reality is not every thought we have needs to be shared. The comments we have frequently shared could be censored or kept ourselves.

There is an innate need to have our voice heard, our thoughts and inputs validated, and a need to tell others what should be done or how to accomplish it. Many well-intended opinions lead to trouble because of a lack of wisdom. Trouble comes because togues go untamed. Wisdom keeps the mouth restrained and humility helps timely words seasoned with grace.

Though trouble can lurk upon any tongue foolishly unguided, the Holy Spirit can help us to be mindful of others and to know when some things are better unsaid. Helping us to avoid trouble. May the Lord keep us from unnecessary trouble today by helping us keep our tongues.

" He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out."m

John 10:3

It is nice to be remembered. Having someone call you by name brings a sense of acceptance and a degree of benevolence. If someone remembers our name, we believe that they have taken the time to care about us and are interested in our lives.

These feelings deepen by how those who love and have known us for some time call us by name. The familiarity of their voice brings further comfort and a sense of belonging.

Can you believe and accept that the God of creation knows you and has called you by name? If this is true, there is no reason to be anxious today. There is no reason for you to question God's love or concern for you. He knows exactly who you are and what you are facing. He is the good Shepherd, He has called you by name and is leading in this day. Trust in Him.
