“He leads me beside still waters.”

  Psalm 23:2

I was feeding the Koi in the morning when a Goldfinch landed by the stream that flows into the pond. It is a small stream that I built with a series of small waterfalls. The Finch made its way up to one of the calmer areas and began to drink the water. The Goldfinch is a small bird, and yet it found a place where it could drink in peace.

The Good Shepherd has sent the Holy Spirit into our lives. He abides in us and, like still waters, supplies grace to the heart of God’s people. We are like this small Finch desiring rest. We need times of refreshing from the Lord and His mercy. The Lord in unceasing love supplies what we need and revives us each day.

Trust the Lord today, beloved. Rest in His grace while being led beside still waters. If the smallest of God’s creation receives His blessings, then you shall receive from the hand of the Lord.

In Christ Alone.
