"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

1 John 1:9

Scripture informs the child of God that we depend upon God's forgiveness and His work of sanctification. Christ ransomed us through His death, and we now live in Christ.

The sins from the past, present, and future have been paid in full. All of this was laid upon our Lord. We now live in a secure position in Christ while daily depending upon the grace of God. The old nature and its sinful nature must decrease from day to day while the new life in Christ rises day to day.

Let us reflect on how God has forgiven us in Christ while trusting in the present work of His Spirit in our lives. This is our hope and joy for the day.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
