“ Man ate the bread of angels; he sent them food in abundance.”

   Psalm 78:25

God fed His children with bread from heaven as they wandered in the wilderness. This merciful provision came to them daily except on the Sabbath, reminding them of their dependence on Him.

In Christ, we have a greater bread given unto us in Himself. Just as the children of the wilderness depended daily on God's provision, we too should seek His daily provision. The mercies of God are made new for us each day. Let us take the bread of God found in scripture so that we will be sustained in our wilderness. God has promised to be with us and to lead us into the promise of eternity.

As we enter a new year, Christ has made the way for us, and in Him we have the assurance of God’s goodness and mercy keeping us. Though we do not know what the new year will bring, we can be certain of this: God is for us, and we have the Bread of Life in Christ.

In Christ Alone.
