“The ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”

  Isaiah 51:11

Beloved, let us look ahead to the day when sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Weary traveler in your pilgrimage, there is a great hope that awaits the ransomed of the Lord. Though in this life you will become weary in well doing, you are buffeted by the spirit of this age. You wrestle with your own flesh. Yet, joy shall be obtained.

There are the small trials of life that vex us, as well as the tragedies of life. But these will all flee away. When the Lord makes all things new, gladness will be obtained in full measure, never to be lost again. There will be perpetual contentment and tranquility when all is made new. This is the inheritance of the redeemed. The blessing and reward come as we exchange this world for the next.

Lift your eyes to that distant land. The Lord promised that He has gone to prepare a place for you. In order that we may dwell where He is. We shall enter with singing and with everlasting joy upon our heads.

In Christ Alone.
