From the Depths | March 19th

"Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!"

Psalm 130:1

The Psalmist is not the first or the last of God's children who have been in the depths of despair. Some Christians mistakenly think that depression or overwhelming anxiety is something believers do not experience. Sadly that is not the case.

We can become emotionally broken just as our arms can. Broken bones tend to heal more quickly than hearts and a wounded spirit is more painful than a broken bone. A fractured limb can be easily diagnosed while the heart is far more difficult.

The hope we have is that there is not a pain so deep that the Lord is not with us or able to bring us out. Christ has suffered far beyond what we could ever fathom and He is able to help us. He knows what we are facing and willing to comfort us. Let us lift our voice if we be in the depths today, God will answer.

In Christ Alone.
