"You are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from disaster."

Jonah 4:2

Beloved, there are times when we carry on thinking all is well. We believe that we are beyond reproach, and perhaps believe that there is no need for change.

Then the word of the Lord comes to us. God's word is described as a double-edged sword. It reveals our heart to ourselves. The Holy Spirit comes with conviction, and where we thought we were well, we now see the need for repentance.

Every child of God is on the same journey. The process of sanctification reminds us how good God's mercy is. The Lord is gracious with us and slow to anger. We are distracted, self-absorbed, and rebellious at times. He has not abandoned us but continues to work upon our hearts. Let us be grateful for God's mercy and steadfast love today. For by His grace, we stand.

In Christ Alone.
