Hope in Sorrow | April 1st

"My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word!"

Psalm 119:28

Is the child of God always happy? Are they always content or optimistic? Sometimes, we Christians try to portray that all is well and that we will never have a care in the world. We do one another a disservice by pretending we always have everything together and that our faith is never wavering.

Beloved, any careful reading of the Psalms will enlighten us about the reality of sorrow among the people of God that we will be at a loss at times in life. Hope will not be evident, strength fleeting, and doubts concerning the future.

However, in all of the turmoil, scripture also encourages us to cast ourselves upon the Lord. To cry out to God for help. The word of God assures us that the Lord is willing to help us.

Beloved, God is with you today, and He will strengthen you. Turn to Him in prayer and hold to the word of God you will not be swept away in your sorrow.

In Christ Alone.
