Led By the Hand | Oct 1st

“ He took the blind man by the hand and led him out…he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.”

  Mark 8:23,25

Beloved, Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him to fullness of sight.

Can you see Jesus' compassion as He securely holds the blind man's hand and leads him to a more secluded spot, knowing that He is going to open his eyes? He moved carefully through the landscape, speaking to him in a friendly way.

Then, when the Lord had him away from the crowd, Christ touched him not once but twice. Not because of any insufficiency of our Lord, but as a lesson to the disciples on that day and to all of us who would follow after. Like the blind man and the disciples, we do not understand God immediately. Our hearts are dull and our spiritual eyes blind.

Jesus alone draws us to Himself, and the Lord's continual touch transforms our lives. While salvation is immediate and secure, sanctification unfolds throughout the believer's life. We remain dependent on the Lord and the work of the Holy Spirit, so that our understanding of God and perception of His glory become increasingly clear. Let us approach Christ anew today as He leads us by the hand. He will never abandon us.

In Christ Alone.
