"Let not your hearts be troubled."

John 14:1

When our hearts are troubled, the last thing we want to hear is someone telling us not to be troubled. We wonder if they understand our feelings and why we are upset. It is easy to say not to be troubled when you are not the one in distress.

The exhortation within this verse is from the Lord. He knows what He is saying and understands the disciples' distress. The Lord can tell them not to be troubled because He is also giving them promises. This has not changed for God's people.

There will be moments when our hearts are troubled. When we lack peace and have questions. However, the Spirit of God will remind us not to be troubled. The Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He has always met His people and supplied grace. Let us trust the Lord today while we cast all of our cares upon Him. He will receive them as God comforts us.

In Christ Alone.
