Prayer of Encouragement | Oct. 1st

“If we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life.”

  1 John 5:15-16

It is a common occurrence to see teammates, friends, family, and fans rooting for players from the sidelines. People are doing all they can to encourage their favorite player. Even though the player cannot hear, we scream and clap our hands.

Beloved, imagine this exhortation from John to the church. With the assurance that God hears us, we should pray for our fellow believers in the midst of their battle against sin. The promise is that God will enable the penitent believer to endure unto the end.

The Lord Himself will strengthen and encourage His people. He will not leave them unto the evil one or allow them to remain in their condition. Everyone is going through the process of sanctification. We stumble in the midst of our race, but it is the Lord who has promised life and victory. Let us pray for one another as we run the race that is set before us. God has promised to hear, to answer, and to keep us to the end.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
