Soldier of God | Oct 23rd

“Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”

  2 Timothy 2:3

Beloved, we are saved by grace alone and depend on God's mercies, made new each morning. We are secure in Christ's work and the power of the Holy Spirit. With this assurance, we are still called to be good soldiers. In other words, we are also disciplined in our faith.

Civilian life is very different from military life. A soldier must have a certain physical and mental readiness. Spiritually speaking, we too must be ready to serve the Lord and live for Him in a way that brings glory to God. We do not want to bring reproach to the kingdom of God or be a stumbling block to others because we are not living a godly life.

Let us be grateful for God’s grace, while also knowing that this same saving grace is sufficient to enable us to be disciplined as good soldiers, willing to suffer for Christ. Live for Him today.

In Christ Alone.
