Sorrow and Grief | Sep. 4th

“ A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.”

  Isaiah 53:3

Beloved, if you are in a season of sorrow and acquainted with grief, know that the Lord stands beside you. In our modern Christianity, there seems to be a denial of the reality of sorrow. The Bible tells us something very different. The Lord Himself knew sorrow and the burden of grief in ways we cannot fathom.

Let us not be ashamed when we face times of pain, nor make others feel as though they are lacking faith if they are discouraged, in sorrow, or weary. The Good Shepherd is near unto those who are heavily laden.

Christ will not rebuke or dismiss the one who is in anguish. Let not your heart be troubled in thinking you must ignore your pain and act as if everything is alright. Cast yourself and your burden upon the Lord. He cares for you and will comfort you. Jesus knew sorrow and grief. He will have compassion on you.

In Christ Alone.
