The Sins of Yesterday | Aug. 7th

“Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love, remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!”

  Psalm 25:7

The sins and foolish ways of our youth we would gladly forget. We would also hope that those who witnessed our foolish ways or were affected by our sins would equally forget. But what about God, who is omniscient? The One who knows all of our ways and the hidden intents of the heart.

With the Psalmist, we plead that God would not remember or hold us accountable. That He would deal with us according to His steadfast love. May God remember us according to His saving grace and in the goodness of His mercy. The only way we could stand is in the grace of God. Our only plea is His mercy. Thankfully, the mercies of God are made new each morning.

In Christ Alone.
