"Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus."

2 Timothy 2:3

Beloved, we do not look forward to suffering, but as a follower of Christ, it will come to us. The prophets suffered, the apostles suffered and all Christians throughout church history have suffered. However, through it all God was and is the God of all comfort.

Let us make a premeditated decision that we will share in the sufferings of Christ as a good soldier. We do not expect to be exempt from hardship or believe we deserve special treatment. Jesus was rejected by His own and we will face opposition as well.

Scripture warns us of our adversary and that he has schemes in which he desires to assail us with. He is looking to devour our faith but our strength is in the Lord. We are more than conquerors in Christ. The Spirit of God empowers us for the day. Though we share in suffering the grace of God is sufficient therefore we have hope. God will strengthen you today do not shrink back but put your hope in the Lord.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
