When Faith is Weak | April 10th

" Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, "I believe; help my unbelief!"

Mark 9:23

The father cared deeply for his child but felt powerless to help him. To watch his child suffer was beyond what he could bear, no wonder he was struggling with his faith.

Sometimes we feel helpless in our trials. We do understand what the Lord is doing or why we have to struggle. It is good for us to seek the Lord but acknowledge that we do not have hope or fully trust what God is doing.

Christ had compassion upon this man. He exhorted the father to believe but was willing to help the weakened man. Scripture exhorts us to trust God, to ask for His divine intervention, and to have faith.

Thankfully, God's faithfulness and goodness are sure. He will not withhold His hand because God is steadfast in lovingkindness. The Lord answers the cry of the doubting heart because that doubting heart is crying out to Him.

In Christ Alone.
