"Blessed be the Lord, We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped! Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth."

Psalm 124:6,7 -8

Scripture warns us that we have an adversary. The enemy is like a roaring lion seeking to devour his prey. He is a deceiver, a tempter, and an accuser of God's children. We wrestle with the spirit of this age but not with our strength. The Bible commands us to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might and to put on the whole armor of God.

Ultimately, our hope is that the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth, has delivered us. Christ has destroyed the snare. Like birds, we have escaped from the snare through the power of God's grace and mercy. The victory is ours in Christ and we live in that freedom today. Let us remind ourselves that we are no longer in bondage. The Holy Spirit will help us in every hour of testing and temptation. Hold to the word of God and you will find strength.

"Our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us. Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, "

Psalm 123:2,3

Beloved, fix your eyes upon your Heavenly Father. We have a tendency to see only our problems, to see all that is negative and what cannot be. From there, our eyes wander to what we may have for resources or look to other options without any waiting upon God.

Our Father is the creator of heaven and earth. He created all things out of nothing and sustains all things by His power. There is nothing in this world outside of His providence, which includes you and me.

All the details of your day and life are known to the Lord. If you need mercy, look to the Lord. His hand of mercy extends to the children of God. The Father will not withhold His mercy or let go of you.

"Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."

Colossians 3:2

One of the fundamental rules in shooting is to aim at what you are trying to hit. This might sound obvious, but it is a reminder to be focused. Being distracted can affect your precision. Your eye needs to be fixed on the center of the target.

Let us set our minds on the things of God, fixing our attention upon God, His will, and His ways. If we aim for the things above each day, there will be less of a chance that we are distracted by the things of earth.

Our goal is to attain the treasures in heaven and not to accumulate those that pass away so easily on earth. Aim for the things above with focus.
