" Be content with what you have, for he has said, ' I will never leave you or forsake you.' So we can confidently say, ' The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to ?"

Hebrews 13:5-6

The desire to improve your circumstances or yourself is not sinful. The motive for improvement should not be fueled by covetousness. What helps us to keep our sinful nature is to trust in the faithful goodness of God.

If we understand the Lord is working providentially in our lives. We can rest in knowing that He is always with us. The Lord sees us and knows what we need. We do not have to be anxious for tomorrow. The Lord will bring what is necessary into our lives.

We learn to be content in any circumstances we find ourselves in because the Lord is with us, and we trust He is working all things for our good. Be content today. Count the blessings of God already in your life while asking Him to help you see His goodness in everything around you.

The Lord is your helper, and He will not forsake you.

"Your sun shall no more go down, nor your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall be ended."

Isaiah 60:20

Summer is drawing to an end. With this comes shorter days. Each day becomes progressively darker earlier than the day before. It is a sign that colder and darker days are approaching.

This physical phenomenon can depict the emotional and spiritual days of our lives. We pass through seasons of darkness and sorrow, wondering when the break of day will come. There is a hopeful expectation with the dawning of the sun. The warmth and brightness of a new awakening bring joy and peace that dispels the darkness.

Those who were in darkness have seen a great light. Christ rose with healing power and authority to set the captives free. He is the light of the world. Jesus continues to shine brightly within the lives of His people. He guards their hearts and minds with peace.

Another day is fast approaching when darkness will be swallowed up for all time. Never again shall there be sorrow, pain, or death. The King of kings is coming and He will make all things new.

"Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear."

Isaiah 65:24

The cry for help can feel unanswered at times. When we look at our situation, we struggle to see the hand of God working all things for our good. We wonder when and how the trial will be taken from us. When such doubts come to us we must look to the word of God.

We are reassured that before we cry for help God will answer. While we are speaking He hears. The Lord knows all things and nothing is hidden from Him.

While you were praying God was already at work. Perhaps we do not see an immediate answer but rest assured the Lord's providence is already at work. We do not observe the tulip bulb planted months ahead but soon it breaks through the earth and before long a beautiful flower is seen. Many of our prayers take time to unfold. The delay is not because we were not heard, but rather because God is working in us as He is working on our behalf. Be encouraged, the call for help shall be answered.
