"Beginning to sink he cried out, ' Lord, save me.' Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him. "

Matthew 14:30 - 31

The prayer was simple, and the response was immediate. The Lord is not concerned with lengthy discords but with genuine cries for mercy.

Our hope today should be the cry for mercy. You do not have to impress God with your words or convince Him of your need for help. The Lord is ever present to help regardless of what you are facing. He can reach you wherever you are.

There are times when we feel as though we are sinking. The weight of our sins and the burdens of life are overwhelming. But God will lift us from the pit of iniquity when we cry for mercy. He is our burden bearer, lifting our heads and revitalizing our spirits.

Cry for help today, beloved. God hears you and will take hold of you. You will not sink in despair.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
