"Now may the God of peace.... working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ,..."

Hebrews 13:20,21

Every true believer desires to please God. We earnestly hope to become more Christ-like in all that we say and do. The longer we endeavor to accomplish this, the more daunting the task becomes if we rely on ourselves.

We soon realize in our fatigue and failures that we need to depend upon the Lord to work in us that which pleases Him. We certainly have a responsibility to seek the Lord and follow Him in faithful obedience.

We must look to the Lord to help us. It is the Holy Spirit who transforms us and works in us the grace of God. The Spirit of the Lord gives us the power to walk uprightly before God and create within us a heart that is pleasing to Him.

This is your hope today, beloved. Ask the Lord to renew a right spirit within you and to keep your heart pure.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
