  “Do not fear,....”

   Mark 5:36

These are the words spoken by our Lord. He spoke to the father whose heart was filled with fear and sorrow. Perhaps the father felt he had reached Jesus too late for his daughter. Despite traveling as fast as he could, the crowds delayed him, and now the message came: It’s too late. “Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any further?”

Yet why should we bother the Teacher any further? Why should we bring our prayers, burdens, sorrows, and hopeless circumstances to Him? Our own hearts betray us with fear and doubt. The enemy tells us that it is in vain to seek the Lord. The world calls us fools and dreamers.

Beloved, in response, hear the voice of your Savior: “Do not fear, only believe.” Your trust in Him will not be in vain, in this life and in the one to come.

In Christ Alone.
