"I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven."

Luke 7:47

Beloved, what is the total sum of your iniquity? What despair would fall upon our hearts to see our sins placed upon the scales of justice? Perhaps we can recognize those obvious sins of which we are painfully aware. However, what about the iniquities to which we are blind?

The total sum of our debt was placed upon our Lord. The whole of our iniquity was nailed to the cross. The Lord did not make a partial payment for us or an installment to see whether or not we would keep our end of some agreement.

Christ paid the debt that we owed and could never pay. He ransomed us and reconciled us to the Father. All of our sins have been forgiven. Now, we have peace with God and the gift of everlasting life. Live in the light of this glorious truth, and may it bring you peace today with an assurance that God is for you and will hear the cries of your heart.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
