“You, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.”

   Psalm 3:3

Beloved, we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Our adversary and struggle are spiritual. We are at war with our flesh and from the onslaught of the evil one.

When the enemy comes in like a flood upon your heart and mind, hide yourself in Christ. Be reminded that the Holy Spirit in you is greater than the enemy. If the Lord is our shield, then the fiery darts of the enemy will not ignite upon our spirit and destroy us.

We may experience the agony of toil and the frustration of momentary weakness, but in repentance and humility, we shall know victory in Christ. It is in the knowledge of God’s sustaining grace, the active work of the Holy Spirit, and the keeping power of Christ’s redemption, we are secure. The mighty shield, which is our God, cannot be broken. Though you are buffeted, you are safe in Christ.

In Christ Alone.
