" For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death."

2 Corinthians 7:10

Repentance is an essential part of the Gospel message. There cannot be true salvation without conviction and the repentance of sin. Jesus is Christ the Redeemer.

As believers, we continually come to places of repentance. It is part of growing in the knowledge of God and within the Spirit's work of sanctification. What differentiates godly sorrow from worldly sorrow is reform. When the child of God repents over their sin or brokenness, a reformation occurs as well, a turning away from what was while seeking God's help to make one new.

The child of God knows they cannot continue as they were and seek a permanent change by the Lord's grace and power.

In our times of confession before God, let us seek a reformation for our lives. His Spirit will refresh us, and those who mourn shall be comforted.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
