Hands at Work | Oct 26th

“It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.”

  Psalm 127:2

Beloved, Scripture does not discourage the discipline of rising early to maximize the day, nor does it discourage working late when necessary to complete tasks or achieve goals. However, it cautions against placing our trust solely in our own efforts, whether by rising early or working late, without seeking God's guidance. True success is not achieved through our labor alone.

Despite all our activity, our hands cannot quiet the mind or remove anxiety from the heart. Only God grants rest to His beloved. His peace protects the heart and mind as we labor in the morning or late into the evening.

Assurance for the day is found by those who trust in God's sustaining mercy. God's faithfulness supplies all that we need and enables our efforts to prosper. Let us seek God's blessing upon our work and entrust the results to His providence.

In Christ Alone.
