“My times are in your hand.”

   Psalm 31:15

Beloved, we often take the day for granted. The time we have at hand is not ours. This is actually a source of comfort. We do have responsibilities within the day and need to live them out for the glory of God. But the sum of our days and the content of them are within the providence of God.

This assurance means we never encounter any moment alone, nor are we left solely to our own resources, wisdom, or strength. As children of God, we are under His sovereignty. His purposes for our lives cannot be thwarted, and His presence remains with us.

Take heart today. Your life and current circumstances are securely in God's hands. God is continually at work in your life, accomplishing His purposes both in you and for you each day. You are not subject to fate, and your perception of success or failure does not determine your ultimate outcome. God acts with eternity in view, fully aware not only of today's needs but of everything you have ever experienced.

If the Lord is working all things for our good, we must trust that the ultimate result will be a beautiful and glorious testament to His grace. Let us therefore acknowledge that we are in God's hands today.

In Christ Alone.

Pastor Wight
