“ A woman from Samaria came to draw water.”

   John 4:7

This woman is similar to many people mentioned in scripture. In that, no name is given. It appears to be a random person within many of the historical records of scripture. These lives reveal God is at work beyond their own understanding.

Let us not take the providence of God for granted. He is at work in your life right now. We pass through the day without fully understanding how much God is at work in daily affairs and within our thoughts. God has set a path before us, and He is with His people.

The Samaritan woman did not know what was going to unfold on that day. How her life would be changed for all of eternity because she was going to meet Christ, the Son of God. She did not set out to meet Him or desire to know Jesus, but He sought her.

Let us be aware of God’s divine intervention in our lives and those He brings into our lives so that we might lead them to the living water. Nothing is by chance, and we are not held to fate as the children of God. God’s plan is fulfilled in and through our lives. The providence of God is always at work.

In Christ Alone.
