"Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have."

ree

Hebrews 13:5

There is a high probability that many of us do not consider ourselves a lover of money, but what if we replace the word money with something that we value highly?

There are things that we do not mind spending large sums of money for or time obtaining. Perhaps this is where we are not content. Before we dismiss the subtlety of discontent let us be reminded that there were the angels who fell because they were not content. Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden but not content. May the Lord help us to be content today and with what He has blessed us with.

Discontent sees the world in grays rather than the beauty of the day. There is no harm in wanting more or striving to make things better but let us be convinced that the Lord will supply our daily needs and let us trust His goodness. Let us learn to be content as the Apostle Paul. Whether in little or much we can do all things through Christ because He is the source of our joy and peace. Be grateful for what you have.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
