"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

Genesis 1:1

As we look to the New Year, it is good to remember that the Lord began all things. He is the Creator of heaven and earth. May we never hesitate to start a new venture or to seek change within ourselves in light of God's word.

There should be an assurance within our hearts that if we are seeking the will of God for our lives and delight in His will, the Lord will be an ever-present help.

God delights in new beginnings and promises to make His mercy new every morning. This is your hope for every day in the New Year and the rest of your life. If the Lord is your Shepherd, then His goodness and mercy will follow you.

Ask the Lord to begin a new work within your heart today. Ask Him to be the Lord of your life and for the grace to remain steadfast. Even if you are flawed, the Lord will begin a new work that will result in your redemptive well-being.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
