“The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.”

   Luke 2:20

Beloved, let us have the same response upon hearing the good news of the first advent of Christ. Just as the shepherds received the message in the darkness of night, when the angel appeared and declared the good news of the Savior's birth, so too were they told not to be afraid. Their night ended with praise to God for all they had heard and seen.

Let us pray that the mercy of God would have this same effect upon our lives. Turning our night into rejoicing because we have heard the Gospel. The Prince of Peace removed our fear and has reconciled us to God. Therefore, we rejoice with them for the light of God’s grace that has shown upon our hearts.

In Christ Alone.
