"But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid."

Matthew 14:27

The wind was against the disciples, and the waves were beating against their boat when Jesus came to them, walking on the water. The disciples did not recognize the Lord.

In times of adversity, we do not always understand what the Lord is doing or why He is allowing storms into our lives. We struggle against the winds and waves, becoming exhausted and questioning our faith. Will this ever end? Is God hearing me?

May we hear above the stormy winds and waves the voice of our Lord, "Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid." This promise of the Lord remains beloved. Be not afraid. I am with you, is the promise of our Lord. He is with you today and will see you through the storms of life until we rest in that peaceful land where there is no more sorrow or pain.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
