"Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him."

Psalm 126:5-6

The farmer intentionally bears his seed for sowing. There is an understanding of the labor that awaits. From the beginning to the end of this venture, there will be hardship and sacrifice will be involved. But there is also the hopeful expectation of a great harvest.

The Christian ventures out on their pilgrimage. They are in this world but not of it, facing the trials of life and the adversary of their soul. Precious seeds of sorrow will be sown, because of the sacrifices made. The Christian chooses to die to self and the world. They suffer for Christ and His kingdom with a hopeful expectation for the reward that awaits.

Faith enables the heart to believe that shouts of joy will soon overtake all sorrow. By faith, we know nothing done for the Lord in this life is in vain. Beloved, if you are sowing tears today know that sheaves of rejoicing shall come.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
