The Perfect Gift | Dec. 17th

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

    Luke 2:11

Fifty-four. That is the number of Christmases I have experienced in my life. How many have you participated in? The question we should be considering is: how many more will we see and share with others? As we ponder this, it naturally leads us to reflect on the meaning and impact of each celebration.

This might be a sad thought to dwell upon, but may it help us to think about what gift we shall give to those we love and share Christmas with. As the holidays encourage us to reflect, we take time to find the perfect gift for our dear ones and sometimes ask what they would like. Even when they say I don’t need anything, we still attempt to gift them.

Beloved, the most precious gift we can offer is our faith in Christ. Above all, as you live for Christ and share a life of faith, that offering will endure longer than any material gift. Let your loved ones see that your faith guides your life and leads you into the future. Most importantly, share with them your desire for them to know this same Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Let us give Him to others as He lives in us this Christmas.

In Christ Alone.
