“The wise of heart is called discerning, and sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.”

  Proverbs 16:21

Beloved, a discerning heart is founded in the wisdom of God. It is through understanding the righteousness of God that we are able to identify what is righteous, good, and beneficial. The Lord has blessed us with a conscience, reason, and the ability to learn. We should desire to excel in all areas of understanding, for our own well-being and so that we can be a blessing to others.

Let us not be quick to give our opinion, but may we have a true understanding of what is noble and good, coupled with the ability to express such truths with clarity. Our words must be seasoned with grace so that those who listen to us are edified. There is a benefit in sharing ideas, both for the recipients and for the one sharing. In this exchange, there is a deepening of understanding.

By God’s grace and wisdom, may we be known for our sound counsel, charity, and kindness in expression.

In Christ Alone.
