Not Alone | June 29th

“In the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man,…”

   Revelation 1:13

Beloved, we can be certain of one truth: Christ is present in the midst of His church. Although no church, leadership, or denomination is perfect, our comfort and hope rest in belonging to Christ. He is the head of the body and the High Priest who watches over His people.

When we reflect on this glorious truth, peace, humility, sobriety, reverence, and confidence should fill the hearts of God’s people. There is no place for boasting, open sin, or discouragement. The Lord remains among His people through the work of the Holy Spirit.

When we gather in the house of God, we are uniquely assembled with Christ and His people, an experience unlike any other. For this reason, we should not neglect meeting together but should earnestly join the saints in worship.

Just as the Lord is present in His church, He is also with you. The Holy Spirit is present at this very moment as your Comforter and Teacher. You are not alone, beloved; God is with you, and you are secure in Christ.

In Christ Alone.
