Unwelcomed Visitors | Nov 5th

Trouble and anguish have found me out, but your commandments are my delight."

    Psalm 119:143

Beloved, trouble and anguish do have a way of finding you, regardless of how hard you try to avoid them. They turn up unannounced and uninvited. They tend to strike at the most inconvenient of times and they tend to stay around far longer than you'd like.

When those undesirable visitors come in, the child of God finds comfort in the Holy Spirit and enduring peace in God’s word. Scripture serves as both a foundation and a pillar of security. In times of trouble and anguish, Scripture strengthens the faith, provides assurance, calms fears, and fosters hope in God's faithful goodness.

Beloved, if you're in trouble and suffering, be assured that goodness and mercy are with you. God will overcome all that is against you and will work all things for your good. You will not be ashamed in the end for trusting in the Lord. He is working in your heart and will not allow these trials to destroy your faith. Even when you feel weak, the Lord upholds you and will guide you through.

In Christ Alone.
