"You have fixed all the boundaries of the earth; you have made summer and winter."

Psalm 74:17

The cold nights and brisk days of winter have set in. The Koi pond in my yard has formed a thin layer of ice, and the Koi have settled into the deeper parts in a semi-dormant state. The flowers around the edges and aquatic plants have passed. The pond may appear lifeless, but this season has been brought by God's providence. Summer and winter have equal purpose in God's economy.

The Lord has made summer and winter. Each set for a duration of time to fulfill His purposes. Our heavenly Father applies the same wisdom and care to our lives. Some seasons we may resist, while others we welcome, but may we not miss God's intentional purposes in both. All that He does is good and will be beautiful in its time.

Embrace the moment of today and welcome it as God's gift.

In Christ Alone.
