Comfort and Mercy | Oct 9th

“Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant. Let your mercy come to me, that I may live: for your law is my delight.”

  Psalm 119:76-77

Beloved, we may be confident that our prayers will be answered when our requests align with Scripture. The Psalmist appeals to the God of heaven for steadfast love, which provides comfort. He seeks God's mercy for another day. Let us carry this same request in our hearts as we approach the Father.

God takes great delight in hearing our prayers, even more than we are inclined to seek Him. He desires to fulfill these requests, knowing that only He can give mercy that brings life and steadfast love that comforts us in every season.

Although we are unworthy to be heard or to make such requests, the Lord desires to pour such blessings upon us. No one in this life can comfort us as the God of all comfort does. Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace today in the name of Christ. The steadfast love of God has made it possible for us to come, receive comfort, and obtain mercy.

In Christ Alone.
