Generosity | Sep. 17th

“One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.”

  Proverbs 11:24

Beloved, wealth is not always measured in monetary terms. A person who gives freely can become richer by the blessings they bestow upon another. Because it is more blessed to give than to receive. When generosity is expressed, it generates gratitude, joy, and comfort in others. Those who exercise this kindness find that they, in turn, experience joy in seeing others blessed.

Those who withhold when they have the means to help only find themselves in want. They might not have a material need, but they lack compassion. Their life is void of the blessing that comes with helping others. There is a joy and renewed strength that comes from meeting the needs of others, even if something is given sacrificially.

The joy that comes with generosity can only be tasted by the one who gives. Let us give what we can today, so that others may be blessed and thank God for His goodness to them.

In Christ Alone.
