“ And I said: ‘Who is me!”
Isaiah 6:5
Beloved, is the glory and holiness of God any less on this side of the Old Testament? Because we have been reconciled unto God through Christ does not mean the holiness of God has changed. Our response should remain the same as Isaiah's when we come to the throne of grace.
If we do not know that we are undone before God, then perhaps we think too highly of ourselves, and our view of God is too low. If we see Him still high and lifted, then we too would bow down before Him who sits on the throne. The position we have in Christ is sure; however, the condition of our lives is in constant need of God’s mercy.
Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to help us see God clearly, so our hearts are filled with awe and humility, and we remember how much we need His grace. Saying 'Woe is me' is a godly response when we truly know the living God. May this attitude always be close to our hearts and words.
In Christ Alone.
