"What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine of the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray?"

Matthew 18:12

We all have played hide and seek as a child or experienced attempting to find something we have lost. Childhood games are no comparison to the search of God for His lost lambs. We have never looked for anything to the degree the Lord has come to us but may we consider the joy of finding that which was lost or hiding.

The Good Shepherd leaves the mountains and travels into the valley of death. There He went further into the darkness than any other. He was afflicted and bore the agony for all His lost lambs. We do not fully comprehend what Jesus left and experienced on our behalf so that we might be found.

The Chief Shepherd emerged from death wounded for our transgressions but victorious over sin, the grave, and death. Those who were lost in darkness have been found by Christ. He has taken us unto Himself and has given us a new name. Rejoice in knowing that He rejoices in finding you.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
