“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face.”

   1 Corinthians 13:12

Beloved, it is that time of year when the windshields of our cars fog over. One can scarcely see clearly without the defroster. A similar haze clouds our spiritual vision. We do not fully realize what awaits us in the dawning of eternity. We need scripture to open our eyes, hearts, and minds to the wonder of heaven.

Daily cares, the responsibilities of life, and the pursuit of temporal things act as a veil, separating us from a clearer view of Christ and what awaits in the life to come. The day will come when that cloud will be rolled up forever. When we see the Lord face to face, our risen life in Him will be manifested in the fullness of redemption's glory.

The brilliance of that day, eternal life lived in perfect peace, will cause all sorrows to flee away, never to return. Let us learn to count our days. Let us enjoy God’s peace and goodness now, while straining to see with glad expectation what is yet to come. For what awaits us far outweighs any suffering now.

In Christ Alone.
